An Angel for Cathy

Today Wild Women Authors is pleased to welcome author Pamela S. Thibodeaux who brings Jared Soileau, from Cathy’s Angel a romantic short story release from Pelican Book Group.
Good morning, Jared. Tell us a bit about Cathy’s Angel. Single mom Cathy Johnson is tired of running her life alone…what she needs is a well-trained angel to help out. Jared Savoy gave up the dream of having a family when he discovered he is sterile. Can a confirmed bachelor and the mother of four find love amid normal daily chaos?
What did you think the first time you saw Cathy? That the worst sight in early morning was a frowning woman.
Hah! Good one. And your second thought? That she was lovely despite the frown she bestowed on me.
Good recovery. Did you think it was love at first sight? Absolutely not.
What do you like most about her? Once we got to know each other a little bit, her organizational skills amazed me.
How would you describe her? She is a petite, green-eyed brunette and beautiful.
Okay, but how would she describe you? I have dark eyes and dark hair and am pretty handy around the house and with children…. I think she might even call me her angel.
What made you choose IT Specialist for a career? It just made sense to be an independent contractor in the same field I occupied while in the Navy.
What is your biggest fear? Until I met Cathy, my biggest fear was that I’d never have a family.
How do you relax? I run.
Who is your favorite fictional character and why? Shelton on the Big Bang Theory….he’s just so analytical. I tend to be analytical also so I get a kick out of his shenanigans.
What is the best piece of advice you ever received? Let go and let God. My lifelong desire was to be married and have a family. That dream died a slow, painful death after I discovered I couldn’t father a child. However, when I let go of the dream and trusted God with my future, I met Cathy who is a widow with 4 children. God always has a way of not only answering your prayers but making your dream come true in a much bigger way than you’d ever imagine.
That was terrific, Jared. Thank you. Now it's time to chat with Pamela. What movies or books have had an impact on your writing? I am an avid reader since early childhood and a hopeless romantic all of my life so suffice it to say many, many books have impacted my life. Nora Roberts is my all-time-favorite author in secular romance while Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury and a whole bunch of Pelican Book Group authors impact my writing!
Tell us a bit about your publisher. How did you hear about them? What influenced your decision to submit to them. Tell us a bit about the submission process. How long did it take from query to release?
Cathy’s Angel was originally published by The Wild Rose Press under their White Rose imprint. I found out about TWRP back in 2007 when I submitted my novel, The Inheritance to them. This line eventually became White Rose Publishing then evolved into an imprint of Pelican Book Group. Cathy’s Angel is still available through PBG. Back then it only took about 3-6 months from query to publication but as with any publisher, the growth of the business means somewhat slower production time. Which is still OK since major houses take up to 2 years to produce a book!
What book are you currently reading? The Essential Wayne Dyer Collection which includes The Power of Intention, Inspiration, and Excuses Be Gone!
What's up next for you? As usual I have numerous WIP’s so not sure yet what is coming next. I recently published an E-bundle of my Tempered series that includes all 4 full length novels + the spin-off short story, Lori’s Redemption. Purchasing the bundle is like buying 3 novels and getting 1 + the short story free! Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/1SzkRoi
